Growing Winter Vegetables in Containers
Want to continue gardening in the winter, but not sure how?
On Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 12PM to 1PM, join Master Gardener, Terri Lippert, who will inspire you to grow your own vegetables even with limited space. This class will include tips for making inexpensive self-watering containers, which you can fill with your own potting soil mixture.
Get ideas for what to plant in the fall and winter months and learn how to locate and manage your containers for best result.
Sign up for this class and get gardening in time for a winter harvest.
You are invited to stop by for a tour any time the garden is open: Tuesday 4PM – 7PM, Thursday 9AM – 12PM and Saturday 9AM – 1PM. We’d like the garden to be a resource for all, and love to share the beautiful space and what we’re doing.
If you are interested in joining our community garden as a member next year (March – October 2018), simply fill out and send us the completed membership application form to the address listed. You will be notified of your status by the end of this calendar year.
If you have been to Chicago recently and arrived at the O’hare airport you may have seen something remarkable – the vertical farm in G Terminal.
Hat tip to Lori Caldwell for telling us about this vertical garden.
